Mountain bikers didn’t pay much attention to the announcement that Trilife, the 24 Hours of Adrenaline promoter, had ended their association with NORBA. They were aware that Trilife was the creator of endurance MTB racing, and that their series and national titles were weighed by the 24 Hours of Adrenalines.

The NORBA clan decided to look for another promoter, inferring that their name is more prestigious than 24 Hours of Adrenalins. They should have been searching for NCS sponsors and pro payback. Round and Round Productions Round The Clock 24 Hour Race was chosen – an amazing event in its own right – to be the official NORBA National Championship title.

The Round the Clock was held the week after the 24 Hours of Adrenaline. It took place in Spokane (Washington), 800 miles north from Trilifes Laguna Seca Race.

Chris Eatough and Cristina Begy clocked 294 and 238 road miles respectively to win their respective solo divisions. The course was 14 miles long.

A TITLE PACKS LITTLE PUNK

We consider anyone who wins a 24-hour race a hero. NORBA’s 24 Hour National Championship was so insignificant that Louise Kobin and Tinker Juarez, National Solo Championship winners at the 24 Hours of Adrenalin, were not able to attend. Tinker and Louise beat both Round the Clock solo winners at Laguna Seca.

Most people will be happy with one national champion per class in one event. The original national championship was held by Trilifes 24 Hours of Adrenaline.
